If choosing the former, all international flights land at PLS, with the exception of an American Airlines flight that takes passengers from Miami directly to XSC.
Those who hold passports from the US, Canada, and the UK don’t need to acquire a visa ahead of visiting the islands, whilst those from other countries will have to apply for a TCI visitor’s visa in advance.
The country experiences consistent and beautiful weather year-round, with the average temperature ranging between 24 and 35 degrees Celsius and the water temperature only changing by a few degrees throughout the year.
February, March, and April are the most popular months to visit as they offer the best combination of weather, prices, and availability. August to November is considered the rainy season, although there is still plenty of sunlight to be enjoyed.
The only truly seasonal aspect of the country is whale watching, as the staggering creatures only make their appearance from late December to early March each year.
Once in the country, no matter the time of year, it is generally recommended that visitors rent a vehicle during their stay, as there are no public bus or train transport options on any of the islands, and taxis, whilst available, can charge quite high rates. Note that vehicles drive on the left side of the road and that the country utilises roundabouts, not stoplights.
Getting between the islands can be easily accomplished by using either domestic flights, ferry services, or the causeway between North and Middle Caicos.
